2010 BEGINS!

The 2010 Season starts this week at the FFRL with three races taking place on the opening week.  Drivers should make sure that they are caught up in their responsibilities with sending in car files, and checking in on their schedules.

On Monday night, February 8th, the FFRL Shootout will take place.  The 2nd non-points race of the season with 18 qualified drivers racing 75 laps at Daytona Night.  On Wednesday night, the Sportsman Cup Series makes it's debut race at Daytona.  And then finally, on Thursday night, the Diamond Truck Series starts it's season at Daytona.

There is much going on this week and we have much to do to get us rolling.  Prepare, this is going to be great season.

01/03: The 2010 Season is quickly coming upon us.  Now that the ham and champagne are done with, it's back to work.  Several changes are being made for the up and coming season.  Mostly on the admin side though so you guys have nothing to fear.

Those of you who wish to participate in the 2010 season, in any of the series we have to offer for next year, the application and rules have been updated.

the 2009 AWARDS CEREMONY

2009 Awards Ceremony

12/14: On Wednesday night, the FFRL had their award ceremony at 8pm to honor the achievements of drivers throughout all the series of the FFRL.  We all met in a chat room where a Duck had the speech already prepared.  The FFRL had ordered all the trophies over a week prior the event and when they were picked up, photos were taken of each award and placed on the website.  Once the driver was presented with their award, a hyperlink was given so all drivers in attendance could see the individual award and offer their applauds to the driver.  17 awards were passed out along with recognition of those who helped the FFRL financially over the past year.

For those of you who wish to read up on the Awards Ceremony, the initial document was posted here:  09 Awards Ceremony

After the Award Ceremony, the drivers took place at the historic Eight Bowl.  For eight years, we have officially ended the season with a fun race at this track.  With the Sportsman Series winning the "Mag vs Spo" challenge, the drivers raced with the Nationwide Mod and the Sportsman Drivers were the only ones able to qualify so they could lead the field to green.  #66 of Lucky Dog had won the race.

Once again, congratulations to all the winners this year and we look forward to even a better year in 2010.

12/14: Attention all drivers:  The 2nd Thursday Series is back in vote to break the tie-breaker.  This series will run on the 2nd half of the season.  We encourage all of you to vote NOW since this pole will end this coming Monday.  If you need a brush-up on what the two mods entailed, please see the locked poll in this section.

The two biggest differences between the two: The wheelen mod may consists of 2 heat races and 2 main events. An A main and a B main. Pending on the amount of drivers each night will determine the amount of drivers in each heat event. The top winners of both event move up to the A main which will consist of 60 laps. There, points position will carry out. The losers in both heat events will move up to the "B main". Technically, in the B main there normally isn't points issued out. But we will do so some how. Each heat race consists of 10 laps. We will use a random generator to see who runs in each heat event so there is always a possibility that you will race against different drivers each week.

In the Extreme series, it uses the PTA mod so you have the choice of the Viper, Mustang, Corvette or Jaguar. They run roughly 80% of road courses with open setups. There will be some Superspeedways to fill in the mix. Tracks will include Atlanta, Cleveland, etc....

Get to the forums and vote!

11/15: The 2010 schedule is in draft.  Event names are up for bid in the forums under the 2010 discussion.  Drivers can bid on an event name that corresponds with their sponsor from either the 09 or 10 season.  Each bid will cost $100K in VMS funds.  Currently, the 2nd stage of bidding is in effect and will end this coming Saturday night (Nov. 21) at midnight.

Some topics in regards to the 2010 season are up for vote.  More topics will be up this week.

Server:  The FFRL now has 5 servers running.  3 for N2003 supporting all three series (Magnum, Sportsman, and Iroc) and 2 Rfactor servers supporting the TPTCC v.3 and the VHS.  All servers are running 24/7.
