WELCOME TO THE FFRL!
We are now accepting applcations for the 2012 season. The FFRL
starts its official season in February running three series; Magnum Cup
Series, Sportsman Cup Series, and the Extreme Series which features
three different mods. Each series runs at night with starting
practice at 7:15pm EST and qualifying to take place at 8:45pm EST.
Starting our 11th year in business, we have shown stability with the
help of a fantastic community. We are more than just simulated
racing. We are the FFRL.
If you are interested in participating in the FFRL, please read on about
the different series available:
The Magnum Cup Series takes place on Monday nights using the RFactor
software along with the 2012 VHR edition. The Cup series runs a 33
event schedule with American and Canadian holidays marked off.
Using fixed setups with some allowed adjustments, drivers will compete
with the 2012 Sprint Cup points system and compete for the "Chase for
the Magnum Cup". The two top drivers in the Chase are awarded at
season end at the Awards Ceremony that takes place in December. In
2011, over $450 in awards were handed out. Besides the "Chase",
the Magnum Cup also has the "OOC" Competition. The "OOC" (Out of
Chase) operates the same as the Chase as drivers outside also have their
points reset to compete for a similiar championship. Along with
awards given for the "Chase" and "OOC", a "Good Hands" is also given
out.
The Magnum Cup runs with a race length equal to 45% of the actual Sprint
Cup races and 60% damage. Tire and fuel settings are set at 2X
making pit stragedies essential.
The Sportsman Cup Series takes place on Wednesday nights using the N2003
software from Papyrus along with the NWS2011 mod from SimRacingDesign.
The Cup series runs a 33 event schedule with American and Canadian
holidays marked off. Using fixed setup, drivers will compete with
the 2012 Sprint Cup points system and compete for the "Chase for the
Sportsman Cup". The two top drivers in the Chase are awarded at
season end at the Awards Ceremony that takes place in December.
Besides the "Chase", the Sportsman Cup also has the "OOC" Competition.
The "OOC" (Out of Chase) operates the same as the Chase as drivers
outside also have their points reset to compete for a similiar
championship.
The Sportsman Cup runs with a race length equal to 45% of the actual
Nationwide Cup races and moderate damage. Tire and fuel settings
are set at 2X making pit stragedies essential.
EXTREME SERIES
The Extreme Series take place on Thursday nights using the RFactor
software. This year, the Extreme Series is broken up into three
different mods which consists of IndyCar, Dirt Late Modifieds, and V8
Supercars. Each series consists of 8 events per schedule
EXTREME INDY: The series starts with the Indycar mod in which
drivers will take on 4 ovals ranging from short to 2 mile tracks, 2
street courses, and 2 road courses. The series runs with fixed
setup with some allowed adjustments. Yellows are on for ovals and
local cautions for street and road courses. Lenth of races
attempts to run 45% of actual history of Indycar schedule with a 1 hour
max racing for streets and road courses. Damage is set at 80% with
2x on tires and fuel. Engine settings have been adjusted to allow
all cars entering the field to start with 99-100% life.
EXTREME DLM: The second part of the Extreme series heads to the
dirt with Late Modfieds. This series races 2 Heat races (15 laps)
and 2 Feature events (40 laps) at 2 different tracks each night.
The finshing order of the Heat races will set the field in reverse order
for the Feature events. Cautions are on at 2 laps per caution but
does not count towards lap count. Setups are currently open but a
solid base setup will be availalbe to start. Damage is set at
100%. Points are given for both Heat and Feature events with
slight differences between the two.
EXTREME THUNDER: The third part of the Extreme series crosses the
globe with the Australian V8 Supercars. An open setup series on 8
different road courses to take you across the world. The races run
with local yellows in a one hour time limit. Damage is set at 80%
with 1x on tires and fuel. |

OFF-SEASON SCHEDULE RELEASED!
In light of information that the 2012 1.1 VHR version will not be
available till early February, we are being pretty radical on the
off-season testing this year. The month of January will focus
primarly on the Extreme series (all 3) and the Sportsman.
When the release of the VHR come out, the month of February will focus
mainly on that mod especially with the testing of draft at Daytona and
the setups we are using. The off-season races are shorter than
regulary season events. Races that are scheduled laps will run at
a 25% of actual length instead of the normal 45%. Timed races will
run with a 40 min race time instead of the 1 hour limit. See the
table below for the list of events on schedule. Note: the schedule
in February is based on the release of VHR. Schedule may change.

WEBSITE UNDER SOME CONSTRUCTION!
Say 'hello' to the new FFRL Website. Not as spiffy, sparkly, or
pizzazed like sites before but does offer much easier navigation and
ease of use. We do apologize for some links not being fully
updated, but we are working on things as fast as we can to prepare for
the up and coming season. We ask that if you come across problems
viewing this site that you notify the administration staff so we can
direct our attention to that area. |
