Sportsman; Michigan = Bristol?
8/16: This past Wednesday evening, the Sportsman Cup Series headed to Michigan Internatioal Speedway for race #21 of the season. Only 2 races remain before the "Chase for the Sportsman Cup" kicks off. And maybe that's why issues at Michigan seemed rather higher than norm. With fifty-seven schedule laps in this night's featured event, the "Safer Barrier 250", the filed brought out a total of 9 cautions which is 6 more than their 2008 running.
In the last reminents of the Safer Barrier 250, the #3 of Joey da Man looked to gain his second win in the Series and close the gap a little bit on the #32 of Chris Bright. But with just a couple laps to go, the #32 performed the classic cross-over move to retake the lead and head on to victory lane for the 8th time this season. Clearly Chris Bright of Daiichi Motorsports has had an exceptional year. With his contract with Daiichi Motorsports running out at the end of season, he's up for negotiations.
Currently, the FFRL administration staff is looking into the 'yellows' and is sure to be a huge topic at the 2009 Pitsop taking place in Virginia on September 12th and 13th.
