Week in Review...
Winner: Chris Bright
Team:Liberty Motorsports
Sponsor: Bonzai Energy Drink
Pole: Chris Bright 36.203s
Fastest Lap: Chris Bright 37.712s
Highest Climber: Sidewall +6
At Michigan, solo spins decided the fate of the race for some.  No incidents or contact with other drivers other than wall .vs. driver took place in the 90 lap event.  Chris Bright proves once again that his Bonzai Ford will be the one to compete against when the Chase begins in a few weeks.  Grunt's #07 Jack Daniels also proved why he hold 2nd place strongly while the rest battle it out within the top 5 and outside the top 5.

Andrew Mendes continued this week to gain points on Duck to enter the top 5 but failed to do so and now 80 points back.  The #17 of Duck is now tie with the #19 of Stubbs for 4th position.  With Bristol, Atlanta, and Richmond remaining, it's still all up for grabs.

Good luck to the drivers as they head to Bristol to race under the lights.  The Sportsman Cup Series managed the race with only 3 cautions.  All are interested in seeing what the Magnum does.
Winner: Gael Brooks
Team: Team Alliance
Sponsor: Zerek
Pole: Gael Brooks 1.42.047s
Fastest Lap: G. Brooks 1.41.972s
Highest Climber: Ironhead +5
After a great weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway last Wednesday, the Sportsman Cup heads across the boarder to race in Quebec at Montreal.  With four drivers also racing in the Extreme Series, the possiblity of a great finish in road racing could exist.  But once the #7 grabbed the pole, the other three along with the rest of the field, will have some work to do to chase down the Zerek Ford.

Only one caution came out this night back on lap 14 when the #83 of Calob Mclaughlin spun in front of on-coming traffic.  What is more important is that the race at Montreal is the last race before the "Chase for the Sportsman Cup".  Two drivers are battling out entry into the chase: the #3 of Joey da Man and the #39 of Roger Metz.  Metz, with a very small points lead over the #3 needs to only concentrate on being near or in front of him.  When it came down to the last lap of the race, the #3 was running in 2nd place.  Heading into turn 1, the #3 of Joey over shot the rumble strips to cut across the grass.  Without stopping, he continued only to be black flagged for not stopping after cutting the cousre.  To top it off for the #3, hitting the rumble stips also blew a tire.  Running the rest of the race on 3, the #3 went from 2nd down to 6th and 1 lap down.  With the #39 of Roger Metz taking over the 2nd spot at Montreal, he gains entry into he Chase for the Sportsman Cup.

Starting next week at Atlanta; Gael, Mieser, Calob, Bone-driver, Fordboy, and Mesaman race for the Championship in the Sportsman Cup Series.  Joey da Man will lead the rest of the field in the O.O.C. with the #72 only 40pts behind.  Good luck drivers in the remaining 10 races of the season.
Winner: Gael Brooks
Team: Team Alliance
Sponsor: Valvoline
Pole: G.Brooks 2.18.779s
Fastest Lap: G.Brooks 2.18.297s
Highest Climber: X3 +1
Heading to Belgium, the Extreme Series raced at Spa-Francorchamps for 28 laps on the 4.31 mile road course.  Over the past two weeks, the points championship had changed hands from the #17 to the #7 of Gael Brooks driving for Team Alliance.  With Gael now in the lead, drivers in this series are going to have to keep those tires on the track, make clean laps, and hope that the Valvoline Mustang makes a few mistakes.

Only two points in the race did contact actually occur.  On lap 1 and going through turns two and three, the #45 of Andy Colleran in the A&W had side body contact with the #17 Wild Cherry putting the #17 in the grass.  After stopping and allowing the #17 to continue his race, did the #45 continue as well.  Later, in the final turn about half way through the race, a three car pile up in the hairpin between the #95 of Doc, the #67 of Fordboy and the #55 of Ironhead.

Pit road caused issues for several drivers this night with pit entry having two different entry points.  To put it simply, some didn't know which pit road entry to use.  Those who weren't prepared were held in pit road.

Next week the Extreme Series heads to the 8.625 mile course of Lemans.

2010 SCHEDULE!

September 4 Bristol Night
September 25 New Hamphire
October 16 California
November 6 Talladega
November 27 Homestead
For a little while now, the FFRL has been discussing the possibility of bringing RFactor to future season schedules.  With us having our own servers, we have the ability to host RFactor 24/7 for drivers to get acquainted with the new software, give it an honest try, and then make final decisions in the 2011 season.

To better acqaint the drivers of the FFRL, we are running a 12 race schedule that offers tracks of every type; short, speedways, super speedways, and of course road courses.  For the first 8 races, they will be fixed setups to get the drivers, first, acquainted with the new physics.  The final 4 races will be open setups.  Our servers are loaded with the VHR mod and will be updated to 4.0 this coming weekend.

We do hope that many FFRL members take advantage of this unique opportunity and make a voice at the end of the season to decide whether or not we merge a current series into the new game.  The 2010 schedule is presented:
